Custom Web Design & Website Redesign for Professional Service Firms
Ghost Runner Creative Services designs and rebuilds custom websites for professional service firms — law offices, medical practices, financial advisors, consultants, and insurance brokers. Every site is designed around your content and business goals, built in WordPress, and handled start to finish by one person: Justin Merrell. No templates, no account managers, no hand-offs.
Custom Web Design

Design that fits your business, not a template
Most websites are built backwards. A designer picks a template, drops in your logo and copy, swaps the colors, and calls it done. It looks like a website. It just doesn't look like your business. Custom web design starts from the opposite direction: what does this business need to communicate, and what does its audience need to see before they pick up the phone or fill out a form?
That answer is different for a construction company than it is for a law firm. Different for a dental practice than a financial advisor. Those differences are exactly what a template can't account for — and exactly what a custom design is built to solve.

New Build or Redesign - The Same Core Process
A new build starts from a blank page and a strategy conversation: who you serve, what makes you different, and what a visitor needs to do next. A redesign starts with an audit of what already exists — what's working technically, what's converting, and what needs to go. I don't redesign for the sake of change. If something is performing well, it stays.
Both paths follow the same discipline: understand the business, design around the content, build clean, and launch right. Signs it's time for a redesign:
- Your current site is outdated, slow, or no longer reflects the quality of your work.
- It doesn't rank or show up when clients search for what you do.
- It looks fine on desktop but breaks or frustrates on a phone.
- You're embarrassed to send prospects to it.

Frequently Asked Questions
No packages. No tiers. Every project is scoped to what your business actually needs — from a five-page foundational site to a full rebrand with custom functionality.
Every site is custom-designed around the client's content and business goals. I work in WordPress but don't drop a pre-made template in and call it done. The layout, structure, and visual decisions are made specifically for each business. Two clients in the same industry will end up with two different sites, because they're two different businesses.
Most projects fall in the $3,500 to $7,500 range, depending on scope, number of pages, and whether the project includes content, photography, or branding work. That range gets you a fully custom-designed, professionally developed site with foundational SEO built in, not a template with your logo dropped in. Larger or more complex projects are quoted individually.
A typical project runs 3 to 6 weeks from kickoff to launch. That timeline assumes reasonably prompt feedback and content that's either provided or developed as part of the project. Larger sites take longer. Rushed timelines are possible but cost more and produce worse results.
A redesign starts with an audit of what exists and keeps what's working. A new build starts from a blank page with a strategy conversation. Both follow the same core process: understand the business, design around the content, build clean, launch right.
